Karen Fisher, MSW, L.C.S.W.
Certified Personal Trainer, ACSM
Certified Wellness Coach
Certified Kripalu Yoga Dance Instructor
Licensed “Am I Hungry?®” Weight Loss Facilitator
Karen earned a B.A. from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and a Masters in Social Work from Boston College Graduate School of Social Work. She has worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over twelve years providing clinical counseling services to individuals, families and groups. After spending time working in this capacity her philosophy regarding wellness began shifting from working within a medical model of diagnosing “problems” and treating “conditions” to becoming increasingly interested in focusing on clients existing strengths and co-creating solutions to the daily challenges people face. Her own journey with grief, weight loss and establishing healthier lifestyle practices became a personal career shift into the wellness industry.
Karen went on to earn a Fitness Instruction Certification through the University of Southern Maine to practice as a Personal Trainer, certified through the American College of Sports Medicine. She also completed a comprehensive certification program through Wellcoaches in Wellesley, MA., enabling her to practice as a Wellness and Life Coach. Karen has woven her educational background together to focus on the client as a whole, believing that wellness reflects the mind, body and spirit of every client she works with.
Whether working with Karen individually or in small groups on fitness goals, nutrition counseling, sharing dialogue around some of the emotional obstacles that are getting in the way of you moving forward and having success in other areas of your life, or setting weekly achievable goals that propel you towards behavior change, Karen can assist you on your path towards living to your highest potential.
